Merging accounts

This page describes how you can merge such duplicate accounts, and link all your login providers to the same account.

Decide on a main account

As a first step, you have to decide which of your accounts you want to continue to use. We will call this your main account. Your other account is called your second account.

If you have a direct login (VSHN account), you should use that one as your main account. Otherwise, we recommend you choose the account which is part of more organizations.

Set a password on your second account

As part of this procedure, you will eventually unlink your second account from its linked login providers. Before you do so, we suggest you set a password on your second account. This way, you will still be able to log into the second account after unlinking the login providers, in case something goes wrong.

  • Log into the APPUiO Cloud Portal using your second account.

  • Navigate to Edit AccountSecurity Settings

  • Use the Update button next to My Password to set a password on your account.

Move permissions from your second account

Log into the APPUiO Cloud Portal using your second account.

Add the main account to all organizations

  • Navigate to Organizations.

  • For each organization:

    • Click on Edit Members

    • Add your main account with the organization-admin role

    • If you yourself do not have the necessary permissions to add members to your organization, please reach out to the organization admin to add your main account as appropriate.

Add the main account to all billing entities

  • Navigate to Billing

  • For each billing entity:

    • Click on Edit Members

    • Add your main account to the billing entity with the admin role

    • If you yourself do not have the necessary permissions to add members to your billing, please reach out to the billing admin to add your main account as appropriate.

Verify your main account has access to all resources

  • Log into the APPUiO Cloud Portal using your main account

  • Make sure you have access to all the organizations and billing entities of both your accounts.

In this step, you link your second account’s linked login providers to your main account instead. As a result, all logins will henceforth log you into your main account.

Once you complete this step, you will no longer be able to log into your second account using your linked login provider. Make sure your main account has all the necessary access before you proceed. To be on the safe side, make sure you have set a password on your second account, which you can still use to login if need be.

  • Log into the APPUiO Cloud Portal using your second account.

  • Navigate to Edit AccountLinked Accounts

  • Unlink all your login providers

  • Now, log into the Cloud Portal using your main account.

  • Navigate to Edit AccountLinked Accounts

  • Click on Link Account for the appropriate login provider to link your third-party login to your main account.

Deleting your second account

Your second account should not be needed anymore at this point. We would appreciate greatly if you could let us know that this account can be deleted.

Please contact us and inform us of the account username of your second account. Let us know that your second account is no longer in use, so we can delete it.
